If it needs modifying, it can only be done during the casting process. This type of magnets require specific techniques to carry out magnetisation. The material’s orientation is determined during the thermical process, previously going through the cooling phase, in order to obtain a magnetic field with the defined magnetisation direction. Due to the casting process alnico magnets must go through, their presentation is rough and ridged and of a dark colour. In order to obtain a high level of accuracy in the material’s tolerances, it is advisable to run a rectifying process. Alnico magnets do not present any oxidation problems. More info |
